Dan Pendley is an active freelance trombone, bass trombone, and tuba player in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. music scene. He is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Symphony, AIMS Graz Festival Orchestra, and the Brass Of The Potomac. His orchestral performance credits include engagements with the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, Qatar Philharmonic, Alabama Symphony, Spoleto Festival USA, Baltimore Opera, National Philharmonic, Washington Concert Opera, Maryland Symphony, Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, and Alexandria Symphony. Summer orchestral performances include engagements with the Music Academy of the West, National Repertory Orchestra, Aspen Music Festival, National Orchestral Institute, and Chautauqua Festival Orchestra.
Other musical experiences include performing with the horn section of the rock band The O'Jays, and premier performances of the Pokémon Symphonic Evolutions. In the arena of new music ensembles the Great Noise Ensemble of Washington, D.C., and Wild Up of Los Angeles. He has been a soloist with the Brass of the Potomac and the Eastman Trombone Choir. He has recorded on the labels of Naxos, Summit Records, and Alfred Music Publishing. Dan has performed in the pit orchestras of the Kennedy Center Opera House, Signature Theatre, Olney Theatre, and the National Theater.
Mr. Pendley’s studies include those at the Eastman School of Music. His major teachers are Dr. John Marcellus of the Eastman School of Music, Randy Campora of the Baltimore Symphony, Ralph Sauer of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Matt Guilford of the National Symphony.
