Dawn Henry – Clarinet

Dawn Henry, a native of Quarryville, PA received a Bachelor of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, and a Master of Music degree in Music Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her primary teachers were Ron DeKant and Charles West.

Dawn began her career in the United States Air Force Band in 1998 where she served as principal clarinetist and concertmaster. In 2003, she joined the Naval Academy Band in Annapolis, Maryland where she served for 11 years, and in 2014 she joined the United States Navy Band as clarinetist in the concert and ceremonial band. In 2023, Dawn was selected to be the National Tour Director for the band where she plans and oversees all aspects of the Navy Band’s five annual national concert tours. Over the course of her military career, she performed concerts throughout the United States and Norway.

In addition to her military career, Dawn has performed with the Susquehanna Winds, Northern Kentucky Symphony, Prince William Symphony, Little River Symphony, Manassas Ballet Orchestra, Opera Theatre of Northern Virginia, and the American Symphonic Winds.
